The Inverter is the brains of the Webster’s propulsion system. Direct Current (DC) from the batteries is transformed into 3 Phase Alternating Current (AC) allowing for a powerful system that is feature rich.
The Inverter software allows powerful Regenerative Braking to occur. Regenerative Braking is the systems ability to turn itself into a generator when the accelerator pedal is released.
As a generator, the motor speed slows as the energy is reversed thus charging the batteries making an extremely efficient system. This significantly reduces the need for mechanical braking, effectively eliminating the need for brake system maintenance.
Other features enabled by the Inverter Software include pushbutton Forward and Reverse, cruise control, cabin pre-conditioning, real time system monitoring and remote diagnostics.
Battery Technology is the heart of an Electric Vehicle. There are many different types of batteries available with a wide range of characteristics.
Webster Electric Vehicles has adopted the philosophy of using proven technology in mission critical components. Lithium based batteries are the most widely used rechargeable batteries available today.
They are used in every cell phone, computer and most digital cameras and camcorders throughout the world. Combined with a powerful Battery Management System the lithium battery pack utilized in the Webster are the optimal choice for safety, power, cycle life, and low maintenance.
The Electric Motor is the soul of an Electric Vehicle and by far the most efficient motor capable of powering an automobile at freeway speeds. It produces zero emissions and can generate maximum torque throughout its rated RPM range.
What that means is a very fast car capable of 0-60 mph in only a few seconds. The experience of high acceleration with virtually no sound is quite amazing. Due to its simplicity, only 3 moving parts, the electric motor is virtually maintenance free. No oil required means no more oil changes.
Webster EV utilizes a 3 Phase AC Induction Motor manufactured by Siemens, a global leader in electric propulsion systems. The motor is water cooled and designed to last 300,000+ miles without any maintenance. Did we mention no tune-ups?
Electricity is everywhere. Every home and business has electric power capable of charging an Electric Vehicle. There is a free public charging network already in place for Electric Vehicles at convenient locations such as airports, shopping malls, and city parking garages.

The time it takes to charge a particular battery pack depends on two main factors: How powerful the charger is and how much power is available at the outlet. Electric Vehicles are typically charged from a 220v outlet during the evening and generally begin each day with a full charge.
Further charging during the day can take anywhere from 1 – 4 minutes per mile of additional range with current charging technology. While it is possible to charge at faster rates, the current system has proven adequate for 90% – 95% of a family’s driving requirements.
As the demand for electric vehicles increases we will begin to see more powerful charging options available.
